​Pelvic congestion syndrome is the cause of pelvic pain or pelvic discomfort in approximately 20 – 30% of females. Pelvic Congestion Syndrome

Pelvic congestion syndrome is caused by varicose ovarian veins which oftenly connect to varicose veins in the pelvis and sometimes the legs. These are in turn caused by vein strain and hormones. Vein walls weaken and the valves malfunction, so blood that is supposed to propel back to the heart instead pools, turning your veins varicose. Enlarged veins in the pelvis seem to play a major role. It happens mostly in women of childbearing age.

PERIPHERAL ARTERIAL DISEASE (PAD)

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is a common condition in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the arms or legs. The legs or arms (usually the legs) don't receive enough blood flow to keep up with demand. This may cause leg pain when walking as well as other symptoms. People with PAD are at significantly increased risk for stroke and heart attack. Please complete the screening questionnaire to help determine if you have symptoms of PAD.

RESTLESS-LEG SYNDROME

It is not uncommon for RLS and Varicose Veins to coexist. Several studies indicate that as many as 22% of those with RLS also have abnormal blood circulation in their lower legs. This is called chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) which causes varicose veins. When restless legs occur with varicose veins, it can be improved significantly by treating the varicose veins.
